The presence of trees enhances the aesthetic appeal and well-being of our community, and the Arborist Department for the City of Ashland diligently undertakes the responsibility of preserving and tending to the trees in our public areas. Ensuring the vitality of these trees necessitates a combination of specialized expertise, consistent maintenance efforts, and collective involvement from all stakeholders.

Brush Chipping

Residential brush chipping services are available at a rate of $25.00 per 10-minute interval, with a minimum charge of 10 minutes.

For commercial purposes, including rentals, the rate is $35.00 per 10-minute interval, also with a minimum charge of 10 minutes.

The cost for hand loading root balls is equivalent to the residential chipping charge. However, for root balls that require equipment loading, the charges will be calculated based on the FEMA rate for the equipment per hour, in addition to the operator's hourly rate, applicable to both residential and commercial projects.

The chipping charges will be invoiced to the resident or property owner. In cases where tenants fail to pay the charges, the responsibility falls upon the property owner. Please note that if you have an outstanding bill, full payment is required before further services can be provided.

Firewood


We offer firewood delivery services, subject to availability, at a price range of $80.00 to $100.00 per load. The price varies depending on the delivery area. Each load consists of approximately 1 cord of hand manageable wood, which will be dumped at your designated location. Please note that some wood may require splitting. To ensure delivery, payment must be made in advance.

It's important to note that the availability of wood is dependent on tree removal operations. The wood provided is not seasoned, and we cannot guarantee a specific delivery time.

Mulch


We provide landscaping chips in both 1st and 2nd ground natural colors. When available, the pricing for these chips is as follows:

  • 2nd ground natural color chips: $75.00 to $95.00 per load, delivered. The price is specific to each delivery area. A load of 2nd ground chips is approximately equivalent to 4-5 cubic yards.

  • 1st ground natural color chips: $70.00 to $90.00 per load, delivered. The price varies based on the delivery area. A load of 1st ground chips is approximately equivalent to 3 cubic yards.

For those who prefer to load the chips onto their own equipment, we offer the following options:

  • 1st ground chips: $15.00 per yard loaded onto your equipment. Each scoop amounts to approximately 1 cubic yard.

  • 2nd ground chips: $20.00 per yard loaded onto your equipment. Each scoop is approximately equivalent to 1 cubic yard.
