The City of Ashland provides scheduled curbside collection for yard waste during the warmer months, beginning this year on May 1st. Curbside yard waste is collected on the same day of the week as your recycling.

Guidelines:

• To properly dispose of yard waste, it must be placed in biodegradable yard waste bags that meet the city's approval.

• Each bag intended for pickup must display a designated sticker. These stickers can be obtained from Farm & Home Hardware Store or the City of Ashland Utility Billing Office located at 206 Claremont Ave, for a small fee.

• Only materials suitable for composting are accepted in these bags. This includes grass clippings, leaves, flowers, plants, and small sticks (with a diameter of less than 1 inch).

• Ensure that bags are placed at the curb no later than 7:30 A.M. on the designated pickup date.

• Items such as plastic, aluminum cans, glass, rocks, dirt, building materials, metals, or sticks larger than 1 inch in diameter will not be accepted for pickup.
